An Addendum to Yesterday
I thought these tweets (https://x.com/RMcCarthy86/status/1844720991445868953) were quite an interesting observation.
Essentially, the cost of train tickets doesn’t really impact usage - Portugal has very cheap trains, but they get virtually no use as the service is poor (infrequent, slow). The UK has more expensive trains, and they are heavily used because the service is good.
